Complete Ironing Line: How Feeding, Ironing & Folding Work Together
A well-matched ironing line is the backbone of efficient linen processing. Each stage — feeding, ironing, and folding — must work in sync. When one component underperforms or operates at a mismatched speed, the entire line slows down, quality drops, and labor costs rise.
Large-scale linen processing centers handling thousands of kilograms daily need continuous, uninterrupted throughput. The challenge is not just speed — it’s maintaining consistent ironing quality at high volume without temperature drops or fabric jams. The YH Series roller-type ironers with thick-drum options (8–12 mm wall thickness) store more thermal energy, keeping surface temperature stable even during peak throughput.
Hotels with in-house laundry operations face a different equation: limited floor space, variable daily loads, and the need for presentation-quality finish on bed sheets, tablecloths, and pillowcases. Whether you need a single compact ironer or a complete feeding-ironing-folding line, the configuration depends on your room count, linen mix, and available utilities.
Commercial laundry service providers processing linen for multiple clients require flexibility — different fabric types, different fold patterns, different turnaround commitments. A modular line that can adapt to mixed loads without constant manual adjustment makes the difference between profit and overhead.
We manufacture all three stages — linen feeders & spreaders, roller-type flatwork ironers (1–6 rolls, steam/gas/electric), and automatic linen folders — designed to integrate as a matched system. One manufacturer, one engineering team, one point of contact for your entire finishing line.

Choosing Your Ironing Line Configuration
Not every laundry operation needs the same setup. The right ironing line configuration depends on your daily linen volume, available floor space, and heating infrastructure.
Small operations (hotels under 200 rooms / clinics): A 1–2 roll Y Series ironer (working width 1,400–2,800 mm, speed 3–20 m/min) paired with a GSB feeder and basic stacking system handles moderate daily volumes with a compact footprint. Electric heating is practical if gas or steam supply is limited.
Mid-size operations (200–500 room hotels / regional commercial laundries): A 3–4 roll configuration (speed up to 35 m/min, steam consumption 300–400 kg/h) provides the throughput to process daily linen loads in a single shift. Steam heating is standard at this scale where boiler infrastructure already exists.
High-volume operations (large laundry centers / linen rental businesses): 5–6 roll configurations (speed 10–60 m/min, steam consumption 500–600 kg/h) are specified for continuous operation. Typical output: Y Series 5-roll processes approximately 130–150 bed sheets per hour; the YH Series 6-roll configuration reaches 200–250 sheets per hour under continuous operation. The YH Series thick-drum option is recommended for operations where throughput cannot be interrupted by temperature fluctuation. Contact us for a customized line configuration based on your daily volume.
Steam, Electric, or Gas — Which Heating Method Fits Your Facility
Y Series flatwork ironers support all three heating methods on the same roller frame. The choice depends on your existing infrastructure:
- Steam (YZ): Lowest operating cost per kilogram of linen where a boiler already exists. Requires 0.4–0.6 MPa supply pressure — compatible with standard laundry boiler systems. Best for operations processing 300+ kg/h.
- Electric (YD): No boiler required. Suitable for facilities without steam supply or where installation cost of gas lines is prohibitive. Available on 1–4 roll configurations (40–160 kW heating load).
- Gas (YQ): LPG or natural gas supply. Gas consumption: 6 m³/h (1-roll) to 36 m³/h (6-roll). Practical for regions where steam infrastructure is unavailable but gas is cost-effective. Available across the full 1–6 roll range.
YH Series — Consistent Quality at Maximum Speed
For operations running ironers at continuous high throughput, the YH Series heavy-duty thick-drum flatwork ironer complements the standard Y Series.
The difference is in the roller wall thickness: standard Y Series rollers use 4 mm walls; YH Series uses 8 mm stainless steel or 12 mm carbon steel construction. Thicker walls store more thermal energy — when wet linen passes through at high speed, the roller surface temperature remains stable rather than dropping, maintaining consistent press quality without reducing line speed.
The YH Series uses the same direct-line roller structure as the Y Series — no complex S-path routing — keeping maintenance straightforward and remote troubleshooting practical for overseas operations.

Matching the Right Feeder to Your Ironing Line
GSB Manual Feeder: Two operators spread linen manually with air-pressure assist. Suitable for Y Series 1–4 roll configurations where line speed allows manual feeding pace.
Single-Station Automatic Spreader: One operator hangs linen; mechanical clamps center and spread it automatically. Solves the linen centering problem and reduces labor by one position. Higher adaptability — works with both Y and YH Series across all roll counts.
Triple-Station Automatic Spreader: Three operators hang linen in parallel; the machine sequences and feeds automatically. Designed specifically for YH Series high-speed lines where manual feeding cannot keep pace. Three parallel inputs ensure the ironer runs at full rated speed without waiting for linen input.
Industrial Ironing Solutions FAQ
These ironing lines handle all flat linen up to 3,300 mm wide: bed sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, tablecloths, napkins, and surgical drapes. The Y Series ironers support working widths from 1,400 mm to 3,300 mm — choose based on your largest linen item. For pillowcase-only operations, consider the dedicated HPT pillowcase ironing line (1,400 mm width, 1,500–1,800 pcs/hour).
Integrated ironing lines (feeder + ironer + folder) reduce manual handling by up to 80%. The Y Series ironers process linen at 3–25 m/min depending on roll count: YI (1-roll) at 3–15 m/min, YII (2-roll) at 3–20 m/min, YIII (3-roll) at 3–25 m/min. Combined with automatic feeding and folding, a 3-roll line can process over 800 kg of flat linen per 8-hour shift.
Yes. Y Series ironers are available in 7 working widths: 1,400 / 1,800 / 2,100 / 2,600 / 2,800 / 3,000 / 3,300 mm. Roll count (1, 2, or 3 rolls) is also selectable. The front-in/front-out YI-3300 model fits rooms where rear access is limited. All configurations share the same Ø800mm roller diameter and support steam, electric, or gas heating.
Our systems feature intuitive touchscreen interfaces with multi-language support. The controls are designed for ease of use, reducing training time and minimizing operational errors. Additionally, we offer comprehensive training and support to ensure smooth operation.
These ironing lines operate at low steam pressure (0.4–0.6 MPa), compatible with standard boiler systems without upgrades. Steam consumption ranges from 100 kg/h (1-roll) to 300 kg/h (3-roll). Electric and gas heating options are available for facilities without steam infrastructure. Variable-speed drives allow operators to reduce roller speed during low-volume periods, saving energy proportionally.
We use industrial-grade materials and robust engineering in our equipment design. Our systems are built to withstand continuous, heavy-duty use in commercial and industrial laundry environments, ensuring long-term reliability and performance.
We offer comprehensive after-sales support — installation assistance, operator training, regular maintenance services, and prompt technical support — to ensure our customers get the most out of their ironing solutions.
