THE CHALLENGE
Scaling From Manual Operations to Industrial Production
A rapidly growing commercial laundry operator in Surabaya, Indonesia was processing around 300 sets per day using semi-automatic equipment. With hotel contracts increasing and demand projected to triple within 18 months, the existing setup could not keep up. Key challenges included:
- Inconsistent ironing quality — manual flatwork finishing led to wrinkles and customer complaints from 4- and 5-star hotel clients
- High labor costs — 12 operators were needed across two shifts to meet daily targets
- No room for growth — the existing equipment was running at maximum capacity with zero buffer
- Energy waste — mismatched machines from different brands made it impossible to optimize steam and gas consumption
The owner visited HOZO’s factory in Shanghai to evaluate whether a single-brand, fully integrated production line could solve all four problems simultaneously.
THE SOLUTION
Complete Washing, Ironing & Folding Production Line
After a thorough factory visit and capacity analysis, HOZO designed a complete production line tailored to the client’s 1,000 sets/day target. The solution centered on three integrated stages:
Washing Stage: 4× XGQ-100 Washer Extractors (100kg each) paired with 2× HG-100 Tumble Dryers (100kg each), providing balanced wash-dry throughput with built-in redundancy.
Ironing Stage: 1× YIII-3300 Three-Roller Flatwork Ironer with GSB-3300 Feeding Machine — the three-roller configuration handles the 1,000-set volume at comfortable speed without running at maximum capacity, leaving headroom for growth.
Folding Stage: 1× ZD-3300V Folding Machine connected inline with the ironer output, plus a DM Stacking Machine for automatic bed sheet stacking.
All equipment was configured as a single integrated line: wash → dry → feed → iron → fold → stack — minimizing manual handling between stages and reducing the operator count from 12 to 5.
