Pillowcase Ironing Machine & Folder — Compact, Energy-Efficient Solution

The standard line pairs the HOZO HPT-1400 ironer with the HOZO HPZ-1400 folder, which puts two horizontal folds into each pillowcase — the fold most of our export customers choose. This dedicated, patented 1,400 mm line runs beside your main flatwork line so sheets keep the big ironer.

  • 1,400 mm width with two lanes, each carrying one 500–700 mm pillowcase.
  • Four rolls of 725 mm, S-type, both faces pressed in one pass.
  • Up to 1,800 pieces an hour, depending on feed speed, steam pressure and fuel heat value.
  • Steam at 0.4–0.6 MPa, about 180 kg/h, or direct gas firing at about 10 m³/h and 0.05–0.08 MPa, with no boiler.
  • About one third of a chest ironer’s energy on the same pillowcases (66.7% less).

The HOZO Pillowcase Ironing Line

The Ironer: 1,400 mm, Four Rolls

Four rolls of 725 mm in an S press both faces in one pass, across a 1,400 mm width that holds two pillowcases. Steam at 0.4–0.6 MPa is enough, so there is no boiler to upgrade; a gas-fired build covers plants with no steam. Roller temperature settles near 150 °C, and how dry the pillowcase leaves depends on its extraction and your steam’s heat value.

Energy Saving Pillowcase Ironing Machine For Hotels

Standard Two Horizontal Folds; Optional Cross Fold

The HPZ-1400 makes two horizontal folds as the standard configuration. The optional HOZO SZD-1400 adds a cross fold and stacking for laundries that need a smaller, squarer finished pillowcase. Both are 1,400 mm wide and run on compressed air at 0.6 MPa, using no steam, so the folder adds nothing to your boiler load: 120 L/h for the HPZ, 200 L/h for the SZD. Around 95% of customers buy ironer and folder together.

Less Steam, Same Flatness

A pillowcase is 500–700 mm wide; heating 3,300 mm of roller to press one sends most of the steam into air, not cloth. The line heats 1,400 mm and takes two pillowcases across it. Against a chest-type ironer on the same pillowcases it uses about a third of the energy, 66.7% less, on low-pressure steam you already have.

Up to 1,800 an Hour

Up to 1,800 pieces an hour from four rolls and two lanes. Real output depends on feed speed, steam pressure and fuel heat value.

A Third of a Chest Ironer's Energy

About 180 kg/h of steam at 0.4–0.6 MPa, pressure you already have; 66.7% less energy than a chest ironer.

Both Sides Pressed at Once

Four rolls set in an S press both faces in one pass: no single-side creasing, no daily waxing.

The Main Line Stays on Sheets

A pillowcase run takes two to three hours out of an eight-hour shift on a shared line. A line of its own frees them.

Compact Footprint

Ironer 2,380 × 3,300 mm; folders 2,100 × 1,930 mm (HPZ) or 2,100 × 2,700 mm (SZD).

Steam or Direct Gas

Steam at 0.4–0.6 MPa or direct gas firing, so a plant with no boiler can still run the line.

Is a Dedicated Pillowcase Line Right for Your Plant?

Pillowcases are small but numerous in hotel and hospital laundries. On a 3,300 mm ironer, four operators feed four pillowcases side by side while about 2,800 mm of roller stays heated; on the 1,400 mm line, two operators feed two and only 1,400 mm is heated. For plants processing about 7 to 10 tonnes of linen a day, that difference is worth working out.

Where These Lines Run

How To Choose The Right Industrial Laundry Equipment1

Industrial and Central Laundries

Plants washing for several clients keep the main ironer on bed sheets and let the 1,400 mm line take the pillowcases, up to 1,800 pieces an hour.

Hotel and Hospital Central Laundries

Hotels, hospitals and the plants serving them handle the same pillowcase volume daily. Separating it from the main ironer keeps sheets moving and quality steady.

Plants Running About 7 to 10 Tonnes a Day

The scale this line is specified at. Below a few hundred pillowcases a day the flatwork ironer is workable; the line pays when pillowcases start taking hours out of the main line.

Hotels Finishing In-House

A hotel laundry adds the line beside the existing ironer rather than replacing it. Pillowcases come off flat and folded; staffing follows your feed rate.

Dedicated Line or Main Ironer: The Numbers

Most laundries iron pillowcases on the machine bought for bed sheets. A 3,300 mm ironer carries about 2,800 mm of heated width; four typical 500–600 mm pillowcases cover 2,000–2,400 mm. The rest heats air.

The line is 1,400 mm wide, exactly two 500–700 mm pillowcases. Four rolls of 725 mm set in an S press both faces in one pass, so pillowcases come off dry and evenly pressed, with no daily waxing.

Two energy figures, two baselines. Against a chest-type ironer on the same pillowcases it uses about a third of the energy, 66.7% less; against a full-width roller ironer on the same volume, about 35% lower.

The other cost is time. Pillowcases have nowhere else to go, so an eight-hour shift loses two to three hours to them.

Utilities stay low: 0.4–0.6 MPa steam at about 180 kg/h, so no boiler upgrade. The standard build also takes direct gas firing; the insulated build is steam only and runs on 160 kg/h. About 90% of customers buy the line for pillowcases; it also irons other small flat pieces such as surgical cloths.

  • Malaysia — an HPT-1400 ironer with an SZD-1400 folder doubled pillowcase capacity and freed the main ironer for bed sheets
  • Saudi Arabia — a dedicated HPT line in a five-star hotel group’s central laundry
  • Indonesia — a complete plant with washing, ironing and folding on one line
