THE CHALLENGE
Infection Control Failure with Standard Washers
This 300-bed hospital in Thailand was using standard washer extractors with no dirty/clean zone separation — and had recently failed an infection control audit.
The cross-contamination risk was significant: surgical drapes were being mixed with general ward linen in the same processing area. The existing equipment couldn’t consistently reach the 71°C thermal disinfection requirement, putting patients and staff at risk.
The hospital needed a solution that would not only pass future audits but fundamentally eliminate the risk of cross-contamination in their laundry processing workflow.
THE SOLUTION
Complete Barrier Washer System with Zone Separation
HOZO designed a complete infection-control-compliant laundry system centered on two HGQ-100 barrier washer extractors installed through a purpose-built partition wall.
The dirty zone (receiving contaminated linen) is now physically separated from the clean zone (processed linen output), eliminating any possibility of cross-contamination. Each barrier washer features automatic temperature logging for full audit compliance.
The processing line includes four 100kg industrial dryers, a 4-roller 3.3m flatwork ironer for high-volume sheet processing, and a ZD folder. A complete chemical dosing system with dedicated disinfectant program ensures consistent thermal and chemical disinfection on every cycle.
THE RESULTS
Measurable Impact
