High-Efficiency Steam-Heated Pillowcase Ironer for Industrial Laundries

HPT-1400 Pillowcase Ironer: Specifications and When You Need One
The HPT-1400 is a 1,400 mm ironer built around pillowcases. It runs beside your main flatwork line, so sheets and duvet covers keep the big ironer while pillowcases are finished in parallel. On a 3.3 m ironer, four operators feed four pillowcases side by side and the whole cylinder is heated for items that use a fraction of it. On the HPT-1400, two operators feed two and only 1.4 m is heated.
Key specifications
- Output: up to 1,800 pillowcases per hour. Real output depends on how fast operators feed, steam pressure and fuel heat value, not on which model you buy.
- Heating: steam at 0.4–0.6 MPa, about 180 kg/h, so no boiler upgrade is needed. A direct gas-fired version, using about 10 m³/h of gas at 0.05–0.08 MPa, is also built for laundries without a boiler.
- Electrical load: about 1.58 kWh.
- Energy: about one third of what a chest-type ironer uses for the same pillowcases (66.7% less).
- Two builds: HPT-1400 with 5 mm roller walls; HPT-1400-S with insulated 12 mm walls, 160 kg/h steam, pressure up to 0.8 MPa and steadier heat (steam only).
- Finishing: pairs with the HPZ-1400 (two parallel folds) or SZD-1400 (cross fold with stacking).
Is it right for your laundry? The HPT-1400 typically suits commercial laundries processing about 7 to 10 tonnes of linen a day. The HPT-1400-S, with its insulated rollers, holds temperature better over long shifts. If you handle only a few hundred pillowcases a day, running them on your flatwork ironer is workable. As volume grows, pillowcases start taking two to three hours of an eight-hour shift on the main line. That is when a dedicated line makes sense.

HPT-1400: Why a Dedicated Line Beats a Full-Width Ironer
The width problem: Running pillowcases on a 3.3 m flatwork ironer means four operators feeding four cases side by side, and you are still heating the full 3.3 m of cylinder for items that occupy a fraction of it. The HPT-1400 is 1.4 m wide, needs two operators feeding two cases, and heats only what it uses.
What that saves: The machine draws about 1.58 kWh and consumes 180 kg of steam per hour (160 kg/h on the HPT-1400-S). Compared with processing the same pillowcases through a chest-type ironer, energy use is roughly one third. The saving comes from not heating width you are not using.
The real gain is parallel production: With a dedicated pillowcase line running alongside the main flatwork line, sheets and pillowcases are processed at the same time rather than competing for the same machine. That is what shortens the overall shift, more than any single efficiency figure.
