HPZ-1400 Twin-Fold: Running Figures and Line Fit

Minimal utilities: The folder draws about 0.54 kWh and needs 120 L/h of compressed air. Power is not the consideration here; air supply stability is, because inconsistent air shows up as inconsistent folds rather than as a stoppage.

Two horizontal folds: This model performs twin horizontal folds, which suits operations stacking pillowcases flat for linen carts or shelving. If your standard presentation requires a cross fold instead, the SZD-1400 is the model to look at.

Designed as part of the line: The folder is built to sit directly behind the HPT-1400 pillowcase ironer rather than as a standalone machine. Ordering it with the ironer avoids matching speeds and heights between separately sourced equipment.

FAQ: HPZ-1400 Two-Fold Pillowcase Folder

Is the HPZ-1400 bought on its own, or as part of a pillowcase line?

In practice it is specified as part of a complete pillowcase line. Pillowcases come off the HPT-1400 pillowcase ironer and feed straight into the folder, so the two are normally quoted together — buying the folder on its own is uncommon. That makes the HPZ-1400 a fit for laundries running high daily pillowcase volumes: hotel groups, healthcare linen services, and central plants serving several properties.

What fold does the HPZ-1400 produce, and on what sizes?

Two parallel lateral folds, up to 2 folded layers, on pillowcases up to 600 x 800 mm, across a 1,400 mm working width with 2 channels. If your customers want a squarer finished pack, the cross-fold version is the SZD-1400 — two lateral folds plus one cross fold, up to 3 layers, with integrated stacking.

What does the folder itself cost to run?

Very little, because it is a pneumatic-mechanical machine rather than a heated one: a 0.75 kW drive with a 0.8 kW inverter, and 120 L/h of compressed air at 0.6 MPa. There is no steam connection at all. At 120 L/h it is the lowest air consumer in the pillowcase folding range — the SZD-1400 cross folder needs 200 L/h.

Where do the energy savings of a pillowcase line actually come from?

At line level rather than from the folder. The HPT-1400 pillowcase ironing line that this folder completes runs on roughly one third of the energy of chest-type high-temperature ironing — about 66.7% lower — because pillowcases are finished on a dedicated 1,400 mm line instead of occupying a full-width flatwork ironer. The folder’s contribution is throughput and labour, not thermal energy.

What does installation require?

Three-phase AC 380V 50Hz with voltage customizable on request, compressed air at 0.6 MPa through a DN10 connection, and a 2,100 x 1,930 x 1,450 mm footprint at 420 kg. It is the smallest and lightest unit in the range, which matters when the folder has to fit at the discharge end of an ironer that is already installed. Foundation and utility drawings are issued with the quotation.
