HG-50T Split-Door Tumble Dryer: Specifications and Where It Fits
The HG-50T is a 50 kg industrial tumble dryer and a variant of the standard HG-50. The T stands for a split door: the door is divided into an upper and a lower half that open separately, rather than a single full-width door. Everything else — drum, drive, heating, footprint — is the same machine as the HG-50.
Key specifications
- Cage: Ø1,160 × 1,000 mm, 1,056 litres, 32 rpm, turning in both directions.
- Heating: steam at 0.4–0.6 MPa, 60–80 kg/h, or gas (LPG / natural gas) at about 3.5 m³/h. An electric-heated build is available where neither supply exists.
- Exhaust: 3,000 m³/h.
- Load: 2.6 kW total machine input, and about 2.6 kWh drawn in service — fan, drum drive and controls.
- Footprint: 1,340 × 1,640 × 2,080 mm, 700 kg.
Where it fits: the split door suits a laundry room where a single door cannot swing clear, or where linen is easier to load over the top half. It pairs with a 50 kg washer extractor. Where throughput per batch matters more than door access, the HG-100T dries twice the load per batch, and for a laundry under energy pressure the HSG series consumes less steam per kilogram of linen. If fluffy hotel bath towels are the priority, stay with the HG family: a lighter recommended load leaves more room to tumble, and indirect heating is gentler on cotton, so the terry loops stand up and towels last longer.

Ideal Applications for the 50kg Split-Door Dryer
Boutique & Mid-Size Hotels (100–300 rooms): The HG-50T handles daily bed linen and towel volumes for properties that don’t require 100kg capacity. The split-door design integrates with linear laundry room layouts, feeding dried linen directly to the ironing station.
Healthcare Clinics & Aged Care: Smaller healthcare facilities processing patient gowns, bed linen, and towels benefit from the HG-50T’s manageable batch size and programmable thermal controls for hygiene compliance.
Laundromats & Self-Service Laundries: The 50kg capacity handles commercial loads from restaurants, salons, and small businesses. Robust construction ensures reliability under continuous daily use.
Sports & Fitness Facilities: Gyms, swim centers, and sports clubs processing towels and uniforms daily find the HG-50T’s capacity and speed well-matched to their volume without oversizing.
Utilities and lead time: The HG-50T draws around 2.6 kWh in service. Steam use is 60 to 80 kg per hour, gas about 3.5 m³ per hour, and an electric-heated build rated at 44 kW, drawing about 31.7 kWh per hour in standard operation, covers sites with neither supply. Schneider electrical components throughout. CE certified (Machinery, Low Voltage, EMC) with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001; normally 10 to 15 days from order confirmation.

FAQ: HG-50T Split-Door Commercial Tumble Dryer
A 50kg dryer is more energy-efficient per cycle when your typical loads are under 50kg. Running a 100kg dryer at half capacity wastes energy heating unused drum volume and air. The HG-50T also has a smaller physical footprint, fitting into tighter laundry rooms while still offering split-door workflow benefits. For operations processing 800–1,500 kg daily, the 50kg capacity balances throughput with energy efficiency.
The door is divided into an upper and a lower half that open separately, instead of one full-width door. That helps where a single door cannot swing clear in a tight laundry room, or where linen is easier to load over the top half. Loading and unloading still happen on the same side of the machine, and drum, drive, heating and capacity are identical to the standard HG-50.
The HG-50T handles all standard commercial laundry textiles: bed sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, bath towels, hand towels, tablecloths, napkins, patient gowns, scrubs, uniforms, and lightweight workwear. The programmable controller allows setting specific temperature and time profiles for each fabric type. For extremely heavy or dense items (industrial coveralls, fireproof garments), the 100kg HG-100T may be more suitable due to the larger drum volume needed for proper tumbling action.
The HG-50T requires: a level concrete foundation capable of supporting the machine weight; appropriate utility connections (steam inlet at 0.4–0.6 MPa, or gas supply, or electrical connection depending on heating type); adequate ventilation or exhaust ducting for moisture extraction; and front clearance for both halves of the door to open fully. We provide detailed foundation drawings and utility specifications with every quotation, and our engineering team offers free laundry room layout design including equipment positioning and duct routing.
Both share the same split-door design and build quality. The key differences are capacity (50kg vs 100kg), physical dimensions, and utility requirements. The HG-50T is ideal for mid-volume operations (800–1,500 kg/day) with limited floor space, while the HG-100T suits high-volume facilities (1,500–3,000 kg/day). If you’re between sizes, consider: two HG-50T units offer more scheduling flexibility than one HG-100T, but one HG-100T has lower total energy consumption per kilogram.
